also تارة in art. ثَارٌ مُنِيمْ ([ تور [A slayer of one's
relation who causes his slayer to sleep, ] means one
with whom the secher [of blood-revenge or retahin-

so that he sleeps after ; ($, Ķ;) one who, if slain,
causes the pursuer of blood-revenge to cease from
the pursuit : (Ham p. 87 :) or a person who is
an equivalent for the blood of one's relation [and
who therefore, by his being slain in retaliation,

In a trad. of Mohammad Ibn-Selemchi, relating
to the day of Kheyber, occur the words, Lai ci
,meaning [I am for him ,رَسُولَ اللهِ المَوْتُورُ لِلثَّائِرِ*
i. c. I am he who should slay him, O Apostle of
God:] the sccher of blood-revenge [is for him of
whom blood-revenge is sought]. (L. [The expln-
nation there given is clearly shown to relate to

be the most beneficial, in its influences on the
weather, of all the Mansions of the Moon, on
account of the period of its auroral setting, which,
in central Arabia, about the commencement of
the cra of the Flight, began on the 12th of

Just One who eats Jif. (K. [It seems to be
there indicated that the latter word is to be under-
stood in this case in the former of the senscs
assigned to it above ; but it is not so.]) Onc says,
تُغْل i. e. t He Tho eats , لَيْسَ الثَّفِلُ كَاَلْمَحِضِ
[or grain, &c.,] is not like him who drinks pure
milk. (TA.) And هُمْ مُثَافِلُون٢َ ! They are eating
Jil, i. e. grain, (T, S, M, Ķ, TA,) or flesh-meat,
or bread, or dates, (T,) [&e.,] being in want of
milk ; (T, §;) the hardest of the means of sub-
sistence (T, S, M) to the Bedawee. (T, Ş.)
il, (T,) or allf, (TA,) + Somewhat remain-
ing ('T) of dates, in a sack : on the authority of
a person of the tribe of Suleym. (T, TA.)
jus Slow; (S, M, Mgh, Ķ;) applied to a
canel (T, S, M, Mgh, K) &c .; as also jas;
(K;) and JUS: (K in art. Jis:) one that will
not rise and go save with reluctance : (T:) the
first thus written with fet-h [to the ] in the
generality of books; but in the Tekmileh [of the
'Eyn] *Jus, and there said to be applied to a

Jus The thing by which the mill is preserved
from the ground; as also "Jit : (M, Ķ :) it is a
skin that is spread beneath the hand-mill to pre-
serve the flour from the dust; (T;) a skin, ($,
Msb,) or the like, that is put beneath the mill,
(Msb,) [i. e.,] which is spread, and whereon is
placed the mill, which is turned with the hand,
(S,) in order that the flour may fall upon it. ($,
Msb.) When the JUS has another thing to pre-
serve it from the ground, this latter is called the

this may have been taken from a MS. in which
Je has been erroneously put for Jej. In the
ثَاقِفَهُ = (١- رَجُلْ تَقِيفٌ وَقَدْ ثَقُفَ ثَقَافَةً JK, I find

arrom upon the bow straightly towards the object
aimed at, is not approved. (Mgh.) __ Hence,

well, and mnended him, or improved him. (Mgh,
لَوْلَا تَثْقِيفُكَ وَتَوْقِيفُكَ مَا كُنْتُ شَيًّاً , TA.) You pay
:[But for thy disciplining, or good educating,
and amending, or improving, and thy teaching, I
had not been anything]. (TA.)_ You sny also,
of vinegar, ◌َويُثَقِّفُ الطَّعَام i. e. It makes food acid.

phorical. (TA.) [Accord. to J,] ◌ُالمُثَاقَّفَة is from
JA in the first of the senses explained above.

another : and partienlarly in fight, or with the
smord : (K: [see also , below : ]) and the
nsing of, or performing with, the sword; like
asus. (TA.) And aist, inf. n. au's, He played
with him with the sword, or some other weupon.
